Hazardous waste loads can be accepted on a 24/7 basis via bulk road tanker onto the site at Seal Sands.

Samples of waste are taken from the delivery for analysis prior to discharge into one of a number of feed tanks (glass-lined steel and mild steel) for storage, and to ensure a homogeneous feed into the incinerator.

The sample analysis includes calorific value and miscibility/compatibility with other liquids in the feed tanks and the presence of compounds which might compromise the efficient and compliant operation of the plant within legally prescribed limits.
